I'm a math teacher in the middle of nowhere, and I love it! I am misanthropic (in other words, I like being alone a lot), nice, a good listener, and very independent. I have several interests -- I used to be huge into science fiction (especially Babylon 5). Now I really love folk music, both listening and playing. I am a great singer (and modest, too! ), and sing with a bluegrass/folk/eclectic band here on the rez. I love songs that say something, which is what drew me to folk music (I started off listening to a lot of folk protest music, then branched out). This means I also like country, rock, basically any good songs! I love Babylon 5, though of course it hasn't been around for quite some time. Now I like House, because he's just like me! But I don't find the time for all that much t.v. anymore. I also love driving around rural places (such as where I live), reminiscing about what I left behind on the east coast (mmmmm, BAGELS), and waiting until the VERY last minute to do laundry ("nobody will see the hole in these really old jeans with this horrendous 80s t-shirt covering it...right..."). I am very far away from people, places and things (Gallup, NM being the closest place I can get a haircut, for example), so even though I DO want to get married and have kids, and I AM looking for a serious relationship, I am willing to settle for penpals right now.... The traits about myself that are important enough to point out: - I'm vegetarian - I'm shy, though some of my friends might disagree - I'm Jewish but very removed from my faith right now. Mostly physically, that is. Pretty removed from a lot of stuff, actually. - I plan to become a librarian of some sort, and I'm in school for that, which takes up a lot of time, since I also work full-time at a demanding job (teaching) - I'm a member of the Green Party. I'll respect your right to carry a gun if you'll respect my right to a living wage.
